Another draw against a team in form and gained after another red card, this time for Sodje, meaning another resuffle and an hour of playing with only 10 men. Well, Pards at least was pleased with the result, "The players worked extremely hard to keep Norwich out for such a long time, they showed a lot of character and deserved credit for the way they performed. It was a backs-to-the-wall effort and they performed their job superbly."
Lots of character again then for the second game running and Weaver, Thomas and Holland all had good games, although there was obviously very good reasons for Matty H to put himself about in the heart of East Anglia.
The guardian and the telegraph are about the only ones to report on the game yesterday and the Guardian, forgetting the bit about the accumulation of red cards, includes the worrying statistic that we are the team with the most shots off-target.
Obviously, Pards and his men have been concentrating on that aspect of our play for at Norwich we only had 6 shots with 5 on target. But he now has to turn his attention to the teams discipline, however, as this continues to let us down and with 5 red cards this season we are apparently, according to Wyn Grant, not only the worst in the Fizzies but the worst behaved team in the country.
It all means more selection problems for Pardew come Leicester on Saturday although the defence will be re-inforced by the return of Fortune and he was always likely to give McCarthy the chance to prove himself against his old team so now it just means a straight swap, Fortune for Sodje with Bougherra at right-back. But as well as Mills and Sodje being out, Semedo will be missing though having collected 5 yellows.... Step forward, Therry Racon.
But at times it good to read what the opposition has to say about us. Yesterday it was Glen Roeder's turn in the sportinglife, "We let them get away with a point when they should be going home with absolutely nothing because we totally dominated the game from start to finish. Our goalkeeper has had one thing to do and that's to pick the ball out of the back of the net. It's hugely frustrating to have so much of the play, have that many chances, half chances, and only score one and only take a point from a team that I feel will probably be back in the Premiership next year." Well, thats alright, then. Although perhaps he should be more upset with the accuracy of his strikers, who had a total of 21 shots but only 10 on the target.

Just been reading the official site and apparently Semedo is still one yellow away from suspension as his yellow at Southampton doesn't count as he was later sent off in the same game.
